“A teacher affects eternity; he/she can never tell where his/her
influence stops.”
- Henry Brooks Adams
The reality about this quote can
be seen in a photo of a doctor’s prescription posted by Ms. Virginia Padilla Roble in her Facebook account which is now
gathering so much attention online. Believe it or not, a Cebu surgeon just
waived his professional fee for his former and favorite high school teacher!
Ms. Roble, a 64-year old teacher,
was attended in the Perpetual Succour Hospital in Cebu City by a doctor who
happens to be one of her former students in high school.
Just checked out of Perpetual Succour Hospital.I got this note from the nurses' station. Thank you for the early Christmas gift, Dr. Dilbert Monicit. Thank you for being there.

The note said “Professional Fee paid 22 years ago (One of
my favorite teacher!).” Ms. Roble captioned her post with “Just checked out of Perpetual Succour
Hospital. I got this note from the nurses' station. Thank you for the early
Christmas gift, Dr. Dilbert Monicit..
Thank you for being there.”
The said post went viral and
earned positive comments from friends and relatives of both Ms. Robel and Dr.
Monicit. Many of them commended Dr. Monicit for his way of paying tribute to
his former teacher. Others said that Ms. Roble must have been truly one of the
best teacher to influence her students to make such act of kindness.
Truly, this gesture is a great
way to repay our teachers. After all, teaching is the profession that creates
all other profession and that teachers are our second parents who taught us
half of what we know today and honed us to what we have become.
To Dr. Monicit, thank you for
being such an inspiration and to teacher Roble, a job well done!
